I loved this Game back in the Days and i would say its 110% better than Scull and Bones in so many Ways. Still would call it the best Pirate Game for me. Assassins creed Blackflag was amazing too, but somehow, i liked this here a bit more

In a genre filled with "don't play for the story" games, this is one of the few shooters where the story is legitimately as amazing as the gameplay. What a game!

Damn! This one looks horrible. I'd recommend people to just play Ace Combat. It might have a monopoly on the genre but at least the games are really good!

I've never played this but I just remembered I saw this game before, I think it was some sort of documentary about real life mercenaries? (guns for hire). The protagonist of this game, John Mullins, is actually based on a real life guy who fought in several wars. I specifically remember he appeared in the documentary dismissing this game as not being accurate to what he did at all. While true, I've always thought it was such a douche thing to say lol. Imagine how many people would love to have a game based on them!

Nice review! This game brings me tons of nostalgia. I used to own a GameCube as a kid and this was one of the few games I had for it before I started focusing more on PC games. I used to replay it over and over! There's a few secrets here and there and the levels never overstay their welcome which I really appreciate. I think the game has aged alright, all things considered!

Good review! I played it not so long ago and I thought it was just average. The final boss is a bit of a pain in the ass and some parts of the jungle level, particularly the one where you shoot a sniper rifle while being carried on a platform sucked so bad.

I have been searching for this game for 10 years and now i am in shock that it is one of the worst game of all time. I remember it being hard to complete the first mission where me and my cousins would take turns trying to beat the first mission and i remember it being hard and fun.

I got it in a set of PS2 plus a few games. Looks like a giggle. A truly awful giggle. I'll try it, I have it now, but I won't expect much

Some people refer to this as "hard cut" or "big boy cut". Since when a big creature is revealed, the person behind the trailer wants to make the game seem as 'epic' as possible, then quickly cut leaving an air of mystery and a desire to see what will happen next. 😅

I am having difficulty on this game, once you pick up the C4 charges near the end of the game. I cannot get back out because of the invisible monster that attacks you but you cannot fire because of the explosive barrels littered through the corridor. Anybody know how to do it?

Because this game is repetitive. It would be best to just play one or two episodes at a time per week. And absolutely, it should be played co-op. The steering wheel could work I think, but I think that would need a CRT TV for the light gun to work. I've watched the show. It's pretty decent. But I sincerely wish that Rockstar (North?) Could have made this game. With the control system not only like GTA, but also like Manhunt (without the explicit violence), The Warriors, and Bully.

It is just one game were I regret there was never a Part 2 and 3. With a better worldwide reception it could had become the MASS EFFECT of it´s days. But because of the second Irak War and the strong opposition to it in Europe Americanism was a curse word at that time. The game really had suffered under a bad publication timing. Hence the German GANESTAR magazin had called it a ridiculous much to cartoonish game were the American Flag was just an unnecessary fetishism

I was excited to try this since people called it a spiritual successor to Bushido Blade, but couldn't get into it. Felt real clunky and at first. When I played Dark Souls years later, the amount of patience needed reminded me of this game, but getting better at Kengo never felt rewarding to me, unlike Dark Souls.

This game is great. The first time I unintentionally killed a dojo master with a boken and got jumped by his students and crossed real blades with them is still one of my most memorable gaming WTF moments!

Absolutely loved this games back as a stoned teen. I realize it has its shortcomings, but I can't help but wonder how well a concept like this could be realized with today's graphical/hardware capabilities. Shame extreme sports games are all but dead and buried...😢

Worst of the series. The only one I never finished. Only improvement was you could finally set your teammates weapons. Getting Critical Hour soon as it was a states side release only on XBOX. 1:16 breaking into a lab in CHINA and stealing a man made ßirus… the T-Virus! 😂

The best console version is actually the ps2 version played on a backwards compatible PS3. Yes there's still frame rate issues. But they happen half the time and the visuals are enhanced by quite a margin.

Killzone is not a tight feeling shooter in the vein of Call of Duty, but it has a focused design that makes for some of the best atmosphere you'll ever find in a shooter. It's one of those games that's probably best played as you turn the lights off, crank the TV, and lock in.

Great review as usual. No nonsense, just straight to the review--my favorite kind of review vid. I could see this game having a lot more value if using a flight stick.

I can relate with most of the points presented in the video but we have to take into account certain important factors. The video very well mentions the short amount of time the studio had to develop it, which clearly shows in the game as it is indeed rough around the edges. That isn't to say that the game is that bad. Yes there are plenty of design errors that lead to frustration, I can definitely agree to that, especially mission 4 in the night jungle. But after that the game becomes relatively more straightforward. It's the first couple missions after Pearl Harbor that have odd design. And if I remember correctly, there has to be a select button which displays tips to player. Now yeah the visuals do look quite awkward in many places, and both the short development, outdated graphics and a much better predecessor game, does make it look bad. But back in 2003, no matter how rough these graphics were, it did look decent enough. Frontline itself had also a few visually rough areas, but they just covered it better. Rising Sun has tons of secrets that I was very surprised to find recently after a few playthroughs. There are quite a lot of collectables and secret pathways and cheats that can be unlocked by finding and obtaining a few tools in the game. As for the night jungle mission which gives you a sniper to fight narrow jungle corridors of enemies, i believe you also have a pistol which of course isn't much, but its better than nothing. It also has a secret Automatic weapon hidden somewhere, but you will need to access the manchette first and replay the level. So overall, does the game has rough visuals? Sure Does the game have problematic map design? Definitely in some cases. Is the gameplay bad? Not terrible, but it did try its best given the situation. Is the game bad? It's far from a good game, but it's also not a very bad one. The effort and work put into it can be seen, but through that you can also see that they tried so hard to make the whole thing just work, but they just had to cut corners and things ended up being the way they did. The art, the music, the presentation, and the spirit behind the game is what makes it have value to this day. The execution is very lacking, but the soul of the game, makes it worth trying.
